PROPER

PROPER returns a string with each word having an initial capital. Each first letter after a space is capitalized and all other letters made lowercase.

  • arg1 is the string to be capitalized

Examples

Example 1: Transform string to initial capitalization

Let's say we get the following response with a string that is in all caps:

To transform the string to initial capitalization, we use PROPER:

PROPER(data.trip.summary)

This returns the following:

"The Trip Was Good As Measured By Standard Metrics".

Example 2: Additional use cases

From lower case to initial capitalization:

PROPER("lower case example")

This returns the following:

"Lower Case Example"

From mixed case to initial capitalization:

PROPER("MixEd CasE EXaMpLE")

This returns the following:

"Mixed Case Example"
