Creating authentication schemes

An authentication scheme defines the type of authentication to be applied to an onboarded data source.

You can create the following types of authentication schemes:

  • API Token

  • Bearer Token

  • Basic authentication

  • Cookie authentication

  • OAuth2

  • AWS Signature V4

After creating the authentication scheme, you can share this resource within an organization.

To create an authentication scheme, follow these steps.

  1. In a project, select Home > Auth. Scheme.

  2. From the New Authentication Scheme dropdown, select a scheme type, for example API Token.

  3. In the Create new Authentication Scheme page, enter the required information.

    1. API Token: Name of scheme, header or query parameter type and parameter name.

    2. Bearer Token: name of scheme.

    3. Basic Authentication: name of scheme.

    4. Cookie Authentication: name of scheme, and name of cookie.

    5. OAuth2: name of scheme and redirect URL.

    6. AWS V4 Sign: name of scheme, AWS region and AWS service. Note: use lowercase letters for Region and Service.

  4. Click Create.

  5. A list of authentication schemes will appear showing the new scheme.

  6. Dismiss the confirmation dialog.
