Bearer Token Scheme

Authentication Schemes and Credentials can be created, edit and applied directly within the relevant Edit Connector page under Enable Authentication.

This scheme implies that the system give access to the "bearer" of this token. It is an HTTP authentication scheme that uses security tokens called bearer tokens which are cryptic strings usually generated by the server in response to logins. This string must be provided in the authorization header when making requests to protected resources , for example in a cURL command --header 'Authorization: Bearer API_Key'. Like Basic authentication, it does not provide robust security.

The Bearer token scheme uses a Token credential that is applied to a Connector.

To create a Bearer token scheme, follow these steps.

  1. In a project, select Home > Auth. Scheme. Alternatively, to edit directly within a specific Connector configuration, go to Connectors > Edit Connector > Enable Authentication.

  2. Click Bearer Token.

  3. In the Create new Authentication Scheme page, enter the following information:

    1. A descriptive name for the scheme to be used to identify it when editing a data source.

  4. Click Create.

  5. The new scheme appears in the list of authentication schemes.

  6. Dismiss the confirmation dialog.
