Creating organizations

When you create an account in Xapix, a default organization is created for your new account. You are granted Owner rights to this organization. With an organization, you create projects, create endpoints, define resources such as data sources, build pipelines and much more.

Organizations cannot have child organizations.

A Xapix user with admin rights can create additional organizations and invite members with different rights to the organization.

About slugs

The slug is used to identify the organization in a URL of a project. For example:

Keep the slug as short as possible because it is used in the URL of the project. It also needs to be unique across all organizations in your Xapix account.

To create an organization, follow these steps.

  1. From an Organization or Projects page, click the Switch Organization dropdown and click Create new Organization.

  2. Select Add new Projects > Overview. This will list all available organizations.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, then click Create a new Organization.

  4. In the Create New Organization pane, enter the following:

    • Provide a descriptive Name.

    • Enter a slug. This slug will be used in the URL path of any projects within that organization.

  5. Click Create.

  6. You can now start adding projects to your new organization.
